We're getting into crunch time for me at both school and work, so I'm going to try and schedule the posts at least through the end of the month—maybe even the end of the year. There shouldn't be any change on your end, and if all goes well, I might even try to set this up for next year...

Anyway! On to business!

This week's Minimum moods are: Nerdy, Okay, Sad

This week's Maximum moods are: Thirsty, Worried, Distressed

We've got a couple of stress-y moods here, and one that can go either way. Luckily, Thirsty, the one that can go either way? You can also have a bit of fun with! If your subject is metaphorically thirsty, you might be able to riff off of Horny from earlier in the year. That said, it's also perfectly fine to stick with the more traditional definition of Thirsty, and go with your subject being absolutely parched. Maybe stuck in a desert somewhere? Honestly, that would leave me Worried and Distressed, if I wasn't sure I could get out safely...

Honestly, I feel like there's a lot of room for interpretation with this week's moods. Weird can go so many ways; meanwhile, Shocked can include being actually surprised, or even something more electric. Or maybe both at the same time if you want to reference a meme—Shocked Pikachu, anyone? Still, if it's not coming easily to you, you're always welcome to ask for help around here. I also just realized that all of the dates in the Mood Theme Schedule are based on last year, which was a leap year; this didn't make much difference in the first two months of the year, but started throwing things off at the beginning of March 😅 Oops! I'll see about getting that fixed up in the not-too-distant future. In the mean time, I hope you'll bear with me and the slightly incorrect date listings.

Oof, this week's moods. Just... oof. Too close to home! Well, maybe not Thirsty, though it's a good reminder to stay hydrated, at least. Still, focusing on doing something creative can be a great pick-me-up! If you make a thing, then no matter what else happens, at the end, you will have made a thing, and that's not nothing.

So, what do you think? Are this week's moods a little too relatable, or are you sitting pretty right now? Are you enjoying a distraction from the rest of the world, or are these pulling you back in? This week's moods are: Jealous, Lonely, Melancholy

This week's minimal moods are: Nerdy, Okay, Sad

There's that contrast with Envious I was talking about last week; any ideas about how to differentiate the two? Lonely, too, really tugs on the heartstrings. Melancholy, meanwhile, is sad with almost a hint of nostalgia for me—though we'll get to Nostalgic proper later.

How about you? What do you think of this week's moods? Are you aiming for all three, just picking one or two that spark your creativity, or skipping all of them? If you followed the main track, we're well past all the higher-level moods, so it's fine to take your time with, or even ignore the nitty-gritty moods. It might be fun to approach Shocked with something electric, if you have the opportunity; with Weird, you may have to decide whether you want to go with "good weird", "bad weird", or "neutral weird", with how that adjective is being treated in the news right now; and hopefully you find a reason for Thankful to resonate with you this week!

It's time for another three moods!

For anyone working on a minimal mood theme right now, I feel for you; how exactly do you convey "Okay"? It's not the same as "Good", but it's not exactly "bad", either; it's just slightly more positive than "neutral". (Which, come to think of it, I kinda wonder why that's not a mood...)

As for the new moods, those are some interesting ones! How do you convey hope, let alone someone feeling full of hope? Is "Rejuvinated" a fun excuse to break out zombie memes, or might whatever character or theme you're working with have already literally come back to life? Whatever else is going on, I hope you're Pleased with your progress so far!

We're on to the last week of April, and the last of the "Angry" moods!

This week's moods are: Moody, Pissed off, Rushed

I know the point of this community is to have a relaxed approach to creating a mood theme, but I'll bet we're all feeling too Rushed too often regardless 😅 Still, don't be too hard on yourself if you ever miss some moods or even need to drop out! Life happens sometimes, and that may mean that your mood theme falls by the wayside.

It's been a VERY funny few weeks for me, but I've never stopped thinking about getting back on this project even though I ended up falling behind. So now, at last, here we are! I've got three weeks worth of mood images to share this time, meaning nine silly little Pokémon to throw your way. I suppose that means I better put most of them behind a cut, huh!

Ack,I'm late! And on such an important point in the process, as well! 🤦‍♀️

This week's moods are: Gloomy, Uncomfortable, Anxious

These are some pretty significant moods, because they're the last of the secondary moods! These moods all branch from the root moods, but also have moods that branch from them in turn. This is also a pretty good stopping point, if you want to have a fairly minimal mood theme; you have more image diversity than if you only did the moods from Part 1, but it's still a lot less work than the whole year. Plus, with Uncomfortable, all three secondary moods that share images with the most other moods are now covered!

That said, if you want to keep going for a little while, there's still a few tertiary moods (which branch off from secondary moods and have moods that branch from them as well) and two quaternary moods coming up in Part 2, both of which also make good stopping points. And that's also if you're not in for the long haul!

What are your plans? Do you want to keep going for the entire thing, or do you want to take a longer break after reaching a very stable stopping point? Do you want to start a whole new mood theme after finishing with one (wherever that may be in the process), or is one enough for you (for now, at least)? And what do you think of this week's moods? Week Four! Not the most dynamic cast of characters this week, but it was a delight to discover what Stonjourner looks like when it's just chilling out instead of marching around being Stonehenge! And I'm always excited to hang out with Dunsparce, hahaha :3

Another week, another three moods! We're now over the half-way point for Part 1. Once all fifteen moods for this part are complete, you could technically have a working custom mood theme! Is anyone else excited? Because I'm excited.

This week's moods are: Nerdy, Okay, Sad

A couple more tough ones this week! Sad seems pretty straightforward, and a necessary emotion, for all that it's not a "positive" one. Okay, though, is a little harder to conceptualize! And Nerdy might be just a little bit difficult to put your finger on, as well.
