For anyone who wants to get a head start, or just a better idea of what's to come, here's the various mood theme track schedules:

The Minimal Mood Theme Track starts and ends with each major Part of the Maximum Mood Theme Track:
  • January 1st through February 11th
  • February 19th through April 1st
  • April 9th through May 20th
  • May 28th through July 8th
  • July 16th through August 26th
  • September 3rd through October 14th
  • October 22nd through December 2nd

  • The Medium Mood Theme Tracks start on the first, third, and fifth major Part of the Maximum Track:
  • January 1st through April 1st
Break week February 19th through February 25th)
  • April 9th through July 8th
Break week May 21th through May 27th
  • July 16th through October 14th
Break week August 27th through September 2nd

  • The Maximum Mood Theme Track schedule is as follows:
Part One: January 1 through February 11: Mandatory Moods (plus three)

These are the fifteen most "basic" moods, the deepest roots in the mood theme hierarchical tree. Most of them have more moods that branch from them, and some of those moods branch off further, but the bottom line is, these are the "minimum" moods to create so that every mood has an associated image. In addition, the week of February 5th has the next-level ("branch") moods that will give you the greatest image variety for the least amount of work, but they can be skipped and you'll still have a full mood theme.

    Week 1: Angry, Awake, Confused
    Week 2: Determined, Devious, Energetic
    Week 3: Enthralled, Happy, Indescribable
    Week 4: Nerdy, Okay, Sad
    Week 5: Scared, Thoughtful, Working*
    Week 6: Relaxed, Silly, Uncomfortable

    * Week 5 has the final mandatory mood; if you're happy with your mood theme here, you can skip the final week, but making those last three moods is highly recommended for greater image variety

February 12 through Feb 18: First break! Take this time to refresh, relax, catch up on any moods you missed, or get a head start on future moods. This is also a good time to show off your progress; or, if you're satisfied with what you've come up with, this is also a decent stopping point; with these basic fifteen moods accounted for, all other moods will have an associated image.

Part Two: February 19 through April 1: Secondary and Tertiary Moods

Most of these moods are the next branching level in the hierarchical mood tree. This means that, while they branch off from the base moods from Part 1, they also have moods that branch off from them! These go through March 4; starting that same day are the tertiary moods, the ones that branch off further from the secondary moods, as well as the only quaternary moods, which branches off from a tertiary mood.

There's also a single "leaf" mood, which are the final moods on the hierarchical tree and don't have anything branching off from them; it's included to keep the numbers nice and round, so if you want to stop after secondary, tertiary, or quaternary moods, you're free to skip it.

    Week 1: Stressed, Excited, Optimistic
    Week 2: Refreshed, Surprised, Lazy,
    Week 3: Discontent, Gloomy, Anxious*
    Week 4: Satisfied, Mischievous, Exanimate
    Week 5: Exhausted, Sick**, Content
    Week 6: Tired***, Aggravated, Annoyed

    * Week 3 has the last secondary mood, which makes it another good optional stopping point
** Sick is the last tertiary mood, which is another good stopping point
*** Content and Tired are the only quaternary mood; everything after those is a "leaf" mood, so if you want to stop with all branching moods taken care of, this is where to jump off

April 2 through April 8: Second break! Take another week off to relax, catch up, get ahead, or even stop here. You've got a good foundation for your mood theme, and are welcome to rejoin and pick it up again at any time!

Part Three: April 9 through May 20

Everything from here is a "leaf" mood; you can aim for all of them, pick one to do per week, or just whichever strike your fancy!

    Week 1: Bitchy, Cranky, Cynical
    Week 2: Enraged, Frustrated, Grumpy
    Week 3: Infuriated, Irate, Irritated
Week 4: Moody, Pissed off, Rushed
    Week 5: Curious, Predatory, Bouncy
    Week 6: Hyper, Amused, Cheerful

May 21 through May 27: Third break! You know the drill by now.

Part Four: May 28 through July 8

    Week 1: Chipper, Ecstatic, High
    Week 2: Horny, Good, Grateful
    Week 3: Impressed, Jubilant, Loved
    Week 4: Hopeful, Pleased, Rejuvinated
    Week 5: Calm, Mellow, Peaceful
    Week 6: Recumbent, Complacent, Indifferent

July 9 through July 15: Fourth break

Part Five: July 16 through August 26

    Week 1: Full, Relieved, Crazy
    Week 2: Ditzy, Flirty, Giddy
    Week 3: Giggly, Naughty, Quixotic
    Week 4: Weird, Shocked, Thankful
    Week 5: Touched, Dorky, Geeky
    Week 6: Blah, Apathetic, Blank

August 27 through September 2: Fifth break

Part Six: September 3 through October 14

    Week 1: Lethargic, Listless, Bored
    Week 2: Crappy, Crushed, Depressed
    Week 3: Disappointed, Envious, Pessimistic
    Week 4: Jealous, Lonely, Melancholy
    Week 5: Morose, Numb, Rejected
    Week 6: Cold, Dirty, Drunk

October 15 through October 21: Sixth break

Part Seven: October 22 through December 2

    Week 1: Drained, Groggy, Sleepy
    Week 2: Guilty, Hot, Hungry
    Week 3: Restless, Nauseated, Sore
    Week 4: Thirsty, Worried, Distressed
    Week 5: Embarrassed, Intimidated, Nervous
    Week 6: Contemplative, Nostalgic, Pensive

December 3 through 9: Seventh break

Final Part: December 10 through December 23

There's only two weeks' worth of moods left! And the final week has only two moods, to boot! What with everything going on in December, seems like a perfect time to either try to get all the moods done in the first week, or put them off for a little bit while you take a break or get everything else settled.

    Week 1: Accomplished, Artistic, Busy
    Week 2: Creative, Productive

December 24 through December 31: Final break! A fantastic time to show off everything you've done through the year, whether you found an early stopping point you were satisfied with, did only one or two moods a week at any given time, or made something for every single mood, now is a wonderful time to celebrate what you did. And for your mod to think about whether to do this again next year 😉

Important Note: On Leap Years, any date after February (aside from December 31st) should actually be one day earlier than listed above. This is because of February 29th and math shenanigans, and doesn't affect much aside from stealing one extra day off at the end of the year.

Remember that this is also only a suggested schedule. It's what the community will be officially posting, for anyone who wants to work on prompts as a group, but you can create the moods in any order you like, and stop or start whenever! The important part is to have fun while creating something you're satisfied with.
