It's time, at last, for the third break!

How are you doing with your moods? Are you keeping up? Are you satisfied with what you've created? Maybe you need to catch up, or want to revisit a few moods—this is a good week for that! Or maybe you want to get a little bit ahead of the schedule and take your break at a different time, or even take a longer break later; all good options!

What you do with this next week is up to you, so go enjoy it!

We've made it to Break Two!

For everyone following along with the Medium or Minimum Tracks, congratulations! You've reached a stopping point. If you want to start a new mood theme or keep going with one you're already working on, those are both great options, but so is sitting back and basking in the glow of what you've accomplished.

If you're following along with the Maximum Track, we're a little short of a third done as yet, but this is some major progress! This is a good time to start uploading some of your images, if you haven't already.

Now's also a good time to go back for any moods you've missed. Or maybe you want to re-do a few. Or perhaps you want to get ahead of some future moods? All good options!

While you can share completed moods at any time, this is also a good time to do that, with no official moods to work on this week.

Whether you do any of the above, or spend the next week just resting, I hope you've been having a good time at Mood Theme in a Year. Let's talk about it!

Congrats, everyone! We've made it to the first break!

If you've been following the Minimum track, you're all done now! If your aim was the Medium track, you're half way through. If you're going for the Maximum track, you've still got quite a ways to go—but you've got people on your side to cheer you on!

During a break week, you've got plenty of options. Taking an actual break is a wonderful approach, but you can also catch up on any moods you missed, try and get ahead of moods from the future, share any progress you've made (while you can also do this whenever you feel like it, break week is a good landmark for anyone who wants a clear deadline of when to share stuff), re-do any moods you're not pleased with... Or anything else! Break time is your time, so you decide what to do with it.

Mood posting resumes next week with Part Two; the Minimum track will resume from the beginning, while the Medium and Maximum tracks will match for another six weeks.

We're finally down to the last break! Some of you who've been following along may even have finished for the year! For everyone else who started in January or caught up between now and then, there's only five moods left to go.

What are you planning to do with this break, whether it lasts one week or four? Have you given any thought to whether you want to try for another mood theme next year? If so, this might be a good time to start planning for it (or even get a little bit ahead)! Still, there's also no need to do anything but rest during a break, especially since December is a busy month for so many people out there.

Whatever you plan to do for the next week-plus, I hope you have a great time!

We've made it to the next-to-last break! Or perhaps even the final break, if you've been keeping up with the end-of-Part optional moods 👀

This is a great time to take stock of your progress and see what you've gotten done. It might be less than you want, or more than you expected, but hopefully you're still satisfied with your progress! And remember, even if you don't finish all 132 moods in a single year, this community will still be here in the future, and you can jump back in at any time.

Enjoy the break week!

We've made it to the fifth break! There's only one big part left, and then one tiny part (only five moods!), and we'll be done for the year! Wow, seems kinda monumental when you think of it like that.

Now is the perfect time to take stock of your progress: Think about how far you've gotten, how far you have to go, how far you want to go, if there's any moods you want to re-do or touch up, anything! Are there any moods you skipped over and want to finish now? Do you want to skip ahead to Part 7 and finish up those five moods early? And, of course, just taking an actual break is always a good option. I'm a firm proponent of relaxing!

However you decide to spend the next week, I hope you've had a great time on this project so far.

Part 6 starts next Monday, as well as another Minimal Mood Theme run.

We've made it to the fourth break, and are officially over half-way through the year and mood theme list!

That makes this week the perfect time to celebrate in any number of ways: Looking over the moods you've made so far and deciding on a favorite; catching up on any moods that you've let fall by the wayside; working ahead on moods that have really caught your interest; showing off all the moods that you've created so far; or taking the time to relax, because you've earned it.

Of course, there's plenty of other things you can do during this down time as well; and remember, next week we start back up with Part 5, and the next chance to create along with a Minimal Mood Theme!

We've made it to the third break! A whole week off before the next batch of scheduled moods.

There are lots of ways you can spend the next seven days. You can try to catch up on moods you've missed; you can work ahead and finish some moods early. You can share all of your Part 3 moods in a post here, or even all of the moods you've made so far total. You can tell all of your friends about Mood Theme in a Year and try and entice them into joining themselves; you can actually take a break, knowing that your mood theme can wait for a week. The options are endless!

On top of that, here's some official news: Starting next week with the opening of Part 4, we'll be running a "minimal mood theme" schedule parallel to the main suggested schedule. This will include all fifteen base/"root" moods from Part 1, plus the secondary/"branch" moods Relaxed, Silly, and Uncomfortable from Part 2, for a total of eighteen moods. Running this parallel schedule will allow anyone who wants to start at the beginning of the mood schedule, or who just wants to make a smaller mood theme, to create along with the community! It is my hope that this will make it easier for new potential community members to join in the fun. Going forward, the "minimal mood theme" schedule will run alongside Parts 3 through 7.

That's all for now; whatever your plans are for the next week, I hope you have a great time!

We've made it to the second break, woo-hoo!

There's plenty of options for you for this time off: If you've fallen behind, you can try to catch up a bit; if you're just starting now, you've got an extra seven days to get a few more moods in; you can share all of the moods from Part 2, or all of the moods you've finished total; you can start an additional mood theme and double up (or more) for the rest of the year; you can practice talking to fish; and honestly, you can use this time to actually take a break.

However you spend the next week, I hope you enjoy it, and are looking forward to starting up again on April 8th!

For anyone following along with the suggested schedule, we've officially reached the first break! Yaaaaaay!

There's a lot you can do before Part 2 starts next week:

  • If you fell behind on any of the weeks, you can use this week to catch up
  • You can organize your images and get them uploaded to your custom mood theme
  • You can make a post to show off all fifteen of your current mood images
  • You can take an actual break from working on your mood theme
  • You can work ahead on any part

Plus a bunch of other silly options like learning to juggle, or making a three-day feast, or figuring out how to wear your socks on your head. It's break time!

Do you have any plans for how you're going to spend this break? Let's talk about it!
