Here we are at the second week of Part 1, with three new moods!

This week's Minimum, Medium, and Maximum moods are: Determined, Devious, Energetic

What are your thoughts on this week's moods? Do you think they'll come easily, or do you anticipate more of a struggle? Maybe you could stand to rubber duck it a bit with your fellow participants or any of our cheerleaders? Let's talk about it!

You know I'm not arting this thing, but I want to hear about that new pigeon theme you mentioned. Are you doing fancy pigeons like you did fancy rats? Because there are a zillion fancy pigeons. Homing pigeons, tumblers, crested, feathered feet, etc.

😂 Yes, it's fancy pigeons. Not a lot of them are set in stone, but I do hope to get a lot of colors and patterns represented!

The ones that are decided:

Uncomfortable is a fantail; I will be taking no arguments on this

Impressed features one of them long leggy bois

Enthralled is one of those crested pigeons with the short beaks

I'm hoping to outsource actual pigeons for a lot of the rest; coming up with different rat color schemes/designs was one of the more difficult parts of the fancy rat mood theme, so if I can get a shortcut, I'll take it!

(Side note, Envious is a crossover mood with the Fancy Rats theme 😁)

Guide with pictures: Useful! 😮 Really, though, I'm more planning to just search up some pigeon fanciers Discord server and slide in all, "Hey, mind if I use your bird for an art project? 😃?"

As to Envious, you've already seen it 😂 When I say "crossover", in this case, I literally mean it's the same image for both mood themes!

The idea is that the rat is envious of the pigeon's wings, while the pigeon is envious of the rat's little grabby hands. Together, they can team up to fight (tiny) crime!

Every once in a while, I think to myself, "I should just remove all of my icons and use mood theme pics instead," and choices like this are exactly why. It exudes >:3c energy.

Oh! Thank you so much. I was worried that an Arthurian theme would be too much of a challenge for me, but so far so good...

- Data stepping into an electrical arc. A little too literal, I know...

"Too literal" my left foot! I've told this story before and I'll tell it again: What actually inspired me to make my own mood theme was the mood "Touched" by LJ user ruby_d for their Kingdom Hearts heartless mood theme; ruby_d had drawn one of those classic little shadow heartless being literally touched by a human hand. That image alone had me doodling pictures of rats to represent various moods—and then forgetting about it for years and years until I finally decided to do something about it by starting this community 😂 I loved that idea so much, I flat-out ~~copied it~~ *ahem* used it as inspiration for my own Fancy Rats mood theme; I even made eight variants of Touched, with different skin tones and with or without ring splints, because at the time I didn't know that it would become an official site-supported mood theme, and wanted to offer people options to represent themselves.

Other perhaps overly-literal options from my Fancy Rats mood theme include Chipper (a rat who is chipping a statue out of marble), Cheerful (a cheerleader rat, seen in this icon), and Crappy (laying in a rat litter pan and feeling sorry for itself). Coming up in my Pigeon mood theme, Chipper is going to be found sitting in a bag of potato chips, while Crushed is going to be flattened by a brick, and Peaceful is going to be a pigeon carrying an olive branch. (Disclaimer: No real pigeons were or will be harmed in the making of this mood theme!)

The point being! Find inspiration where you can and in ways that make you happy. I can't guarantee you'll have more fun that way, but that's how it worked for me!

Hello! I'm not an artist, just learning bit by bit. I recently got into Procreate, and decided that a mood theme is a good opportunity to try out various brushes, even though the image size is so small. (I prefer small mood icons, otherwise they're too distracting.) I am making abstract images that vaguely represent these moods. This is what I have so far (all the images can change, of course).
