Year Complete!

Well, everyone, we did it again! We made it all the way through 132 mood themes to the end of the year. Or maybe fewer, or maybe more than one mood theme, or maybe you just watched. However you participated (and watching and cheerleading absolutely count), whether you've been here since the start, since January, or came in more recently, I hope you had a fantastic time here at Mood Theme in a Year, and that you'll stick around for 2026!

Next year, moods will go up on Thursdays; I hope to see you then!

The busy season is always going to be December-January, but I think it would be nice to collect a few projects that run through the year to keep it more active than just my month-end updates. It's a good place to promote any kind of goal-based project.

Congrats! I'm sorry I petered out nearly immediately; life has been a rollercoaster this year for sure. Best wishes in the new year! Maybe I can get a little further in 2026!

No worries; this comm is supposed to be easy to drift in and out of. Life gets to everyone sometimes. However long you manage in 2026, I hope you have a good time with it, because that's what's most important to me!

I’ve tried to psych myself up to posting this formally, but I’m not ready. I want to have a finished Something made with the general fandom in mind, before I also turn up with something so Made For Me.

But also, I’m proud of what I made this year even as I kind of need a break from this one. So: I want to slightly show off what I’ve done so far with Digimon without full-on posting, and as such am doing it here! (All caps from a post in my journal I made in a more optimistic mood, to copy-paste the HTML here.)

Heaviest on Tamers/02/Frontier/Appmon, also some Adventure and Ghost Game, a little 02 The Beginning, and then there's 1 Savers image. Since it seems like Appmon in particular has a fairly high rate of "maybe I will watch it someday," please note that some of the Appmon mood images are particularly spoiler-y!

A few that probably need some explanation:

A few stranger choices, but feel free to ask about anything

- Crazy = to take this from "I will never use it" to "maybe I might use it," I interpreted this as "a character being crazy for/about something." Here, at least in some language versions, Takato is acting fanatical for bread

- Ditzy = That Time Offmon started up his "make things go boom" while in a human friend's arms

- Horny = a joke from Appmon where some women filmed themselves dancing with "hot guys," and the recorded footage glitched and showed alligators instead. (I really didn’t know what to do here. But hey... spines = something visually like horns on their backs? ^^; )

I may still make some more alternates for this as the desire strikes me, but that’ll be once in a while on a Because I Want To basis rather than how frantically I got into this. Planning to take it easier and just follow the schedule next year, probably with Ojamajo Doremi.

And congratulations on completing a whole mood theme! I know you're not entirely satisfied, but that's still a hell of a lot of work you did, and you've got the results to show for it!

Thank you - I know it's something where practice means I'll get better at it over time (looking at icons I made when I started in 2009 vs. this month has been pretty illuminating on that front). And hopefully having worked most of the bugs out with this means next year's For Other People theme will go more smoothly. No "wait I think I want to put a border in" after I've made 100+ images to edit, lol.

And also thank you for supporting us actually using our themes like this. I was counting on being able to use a prepaid card, but since that didn't work out this would have just ended up being for use in offline documents.
