Earlier this year, around when the news about NaNoWriMo going to the bots was getting around, I was struck by the idea:
"You know, if you add up the primary moods from the mood theme hierarchical tree with the secondary and tertiary moods (and one quaternary mood), you get thirty-four moods. If you do one a day, that's basically a one month project. Throw in an extra mood on, like, Saturdays or something, and boom! Mood Theme in a MonthExcept February. Perfect for someone looking for a new short-term creative challenge..."
And, well. While I managed to resist the temptation to actually make a 34-image mood theme in a single month, I did end up making some calendars to properly plot out the moods by day. And now I'm (finally) sharing them here!
There are a total of fourteen calendar pages: They only have day numbers and moods listed on them, no assigned months (or days of the week, because that was just easier for me). There is a version that starts on each day of the week for both 30-day months and 31-day months; I left off February, because, as I hinted above, no thank you. The pages are linked below, should anyone want to save them or print them out or otherwise use them to attempt the challenge. They're very minimalist, because that was easiest for me, but they should get the job done.
Sunday 30 | Sunday 31
Monday 30 | Monday 31
Tuesday 30 | Tuesday 31
Wednesday 30 | Wednesday 31
Thursday 30 | Thursday 31
Friday 30 | Friday 31
Saturday 30 | Saturday 31
There's one mood assigned to most days, but some of the days at the right hand side of the calendar have an extra mood, just to cover all 34 of the higher-level moods. While that day is traditionally Saturday on US calendars, leaving the days of the week unlabeled means that you can list them in whichever order you want, including out of order. As with the main schedule, these are just suggested schedules, so create moods in the order you want!
And then maybe someday I'll come up with a Mood Theme Bingo card, who knows 😂 In the mean time, I hope that it's helpful to someone to have another schedule option for a mood theme creation challenge.

Re: Thoughts
Date: 2024-12-27 07:34 pm (UTC)😆 Mood Theme Bingo is definitely on my to-do list, I just need to figure out how to divvy everything up. Like, do I do one Bingo card with all of the Part One moods and some of the Part Two moods and encourage people to go for a blackout? Do I do five or six Bingo cards, with all of the moods randomized between them, and the Part One moods with a special highlight (something like, "You can go for as many Bingos as you want, but you must fill in the squares with a colored background")? A combination? There are decisions to be made here! I think it would definitely be a fun approach for the later, bottom-level moods, and maybe the mid-level moods as well, but when to introduce the concept, and do I want to create multiple Bingo cards for each Part or whatever...
So yeah, definitely something I'm thinking about 😂 It even reinforces my thesis from above!
