Mid-week Check-In

And we're back with mid-week check-ins!

How are you doing with the moods you're working on? Are you having any trouble coming up with images? Are you zooming ahead, full speed? Are you somewhere in the middle? Let's talk about it!

If you're interested in sharing some of your images so far, but don't want to make your own post, the comments here are a good place to do that. You can also share any WIP images and ask for feedback on them!

You may have caught the post I made earlier sharing my Dorky/Geeky/Nerdy/Nostalgic rats! Unfortunately, I realized shortly after posting it that maybe making and sharing drawings of rats doing the Vulcan salute, which is based on a Jewish blessing, was not a good idea, so I took the whole post down rather than leave it up and make a(n even bigger) ass of myself.

Anyway, I've since edited the images, and the Starfleet rats are now waving. I've also preserved the post itself, just with updated images, if anyone wants to see the rats in question:

I've mentioned before that I'm working ahead a bit, mostly because I'll be running a three month event that starts in just over a week; one of the moods I've been working ahead on most recently is "Dorky", but uh. Listen, Dorky, Geeky, Nerdy, and Nostalgic are pretty strong for shared themes, and I was absolutely spoiled for choices of what to make for them. So I... kinda made all of them that I could think of? I mean, Nerdy I technically finished for Part 1, but when I started thinking of options for the other three moods, the ideas kinda blended together, and—anyway, here's twelve rats that could fit any of those four moods!

This first rat I finished up as "Geeky", but then the ideas hit and wouldn't stop coming...



These rats were originally slated to be "Dorky":





I forced myself to limit things to a mere two lightsaber colors and one Rats Star Trek shirt style, but nothing could have prevented me from using the three standard Starfleet uniform colors.

These next ones were slated for Nostalgic, but they could also fill the same niche as the above:





I decided to stick all of the "Pondering the Orb" rats together, because why not! Also, the Digimon crest I have officially nicknamed the Crest of Rattitude, so there are major points in favor of it being the Dorky mood image.

I still need to decide which rat I'm going to match to which mood, but in the mean time, if any of you want to use one of these (or any of my other shared rat moods) as an icon, you're welcome to do so as long as you credit me somewhere!

All of these will be bundled into their own folder in the final .zip of the Fancy Rats Mood Theme, so users can pick their own favorites to match to their preferred moods. Pretty sure there are enough options here that it'll have most people covered, but I might also throw in a book reading rat when we reach Dorky, Geeky, or Nostalgic properly. Art is addictive!
