Fancy Rats Part 7 and 8

At last we've reached the final rats!


Drained, Groggy, Sleepy


Guilty, Hot, Hungry


Restless, Nauseated, Sore


Thirsty, Worried, Distressed


Embarrassed, Intimidated (two versions), Nervous


Contemplative, Nostalgic*, Pensive


Hungry was my initial design for Hot, but my coworker didn't think it conveyed the right mood, so I went back to the drawing board and came up with a fan instead.

Thirsty has some real rat behavior! I remember my pet rats all trying to drink from the same water bottle at once, even though they had multiple water bottles to pick from 😂 It was both cute and hilarious.

Rushed has an alternate owl version as well, since I made the owl versions only well after the cat version of both.


And those are the Part 7 moods! The asterisk by Nostalgic is because my original plan (and as is still reflected in the custom mood theme I have set up for myself), I was just going to use one of the options from Geeky, Nerdy, and Dorky; they cover a lot of the same ground, it's fine! Only then, uh. My Fancy Rats got approved to be an official Dreamwidth site-supported mood theme?! So I had to come up with some alternate versions that didn't involve other peoples' IP in a hurry 😂 Anyway, it was just in the latest site code tour, so it'll be going live real soon now (along with some jellyfish I made for funsies), so like. Keep an eye out for that in the next site update!

All of that means that I'm going to go ahead and share my Part 8 moods early; I was originally going to wait until the final break, just to keep things consistent, but uh. Well. With any luck, the moods will be live for everyone by then anyway, so why wait?


Accomplished, Artistic, Busy


Creative, Productive, redux of Geeky


As mentioned above, Geeky needed a re-do to not get Dreamwidth's butt sued, so I drafted up a quick computer rat. I of course didn't want the screen to be blank, so there's a little Easter egg if you zoom in on the new Geeky 😉

Creative is also a re-do, since my original featured Neil Banging Out the Tunes, and I wanted to be extra careful. I do love Neil, but I also really like how this one turned out!

Finally, the first appearance of Artistic was in a meme I made for Mardi Gras; I made it on a whim and figured, why not use it for real?


I think that's all I have to say for these moods right now; I'm super looking forward to them going live!
