Hello, all! It's time for the next mid-week check-in!

How's your process going so far this week? Are you stuck on any images, or are they coming easily to you? Were you initially stuck only to figure out a way to make something work? Let's talk about it!

This is also a good time and place to share images if you don't want to make a whole post, to seek help and suggestions, and to share WIPs. If you're having trouble or looking for feedback, or just want a quieter place to share, have at it!

I have continued to race ahead 😅 I've now completed all of the base/root moods, plus two extras. In part, I blame the weather; I'm in the part of the US that was just hit by a massive snow storm, shutting down a lot of roads and canceling a day of work for me, and am currently being hit by another. What a great opportunity to draw more rat moods while ignoring the laundry!

I might also reply to this comment with the images later, under a Summary/Details cut. I'm very pleased with how well they've turned out so far; I think they're super cute, but I may be biased 😉

Thanks 😂 I think I'm going to use the next few weeks to get ahead on the timeframe that overlaps with my Special NSFW Summer Fest. I'm definitely taking a break during Break Week, though! Gotta rest sometimes.

From the looks of it, the storm dropped about as much on us as the previous one did, and the previous one already left snow deeper than our dog is tall 😅 That said, it'll be hard to tell in some places, because the snow will weigh itself down and compress somewhat, so I only really have that impression from looking at places where we'd previously removed snow. Three days ago.

Honestly, I wanted an excuse to have all of these in a single post/comment so I can look at them all at the same time. (My computer is doing something weird with image previews for these. The images themselves are fine, the art just... bleeds to the edge of the fill-less background. But only for some of them? It's weird. Anyway.)

Under Details/Summary tags just in case not-really-anthropomorphic cartoon rats hit any phobias (etc); also "Awake" has a rat sitting in a coffee mug, as a warning for sanitation-related squicks.

Determined, Devious, Energetic

Enthralled, Happy, Indescribable

Nerdy, Okay, Sad

Scared, Thoughtful, Working

Plus two bonus moods:

"Devious" is proving unexpectedly challenging, and I swapped the captions for "Energetic" and "Determined" after actually drawing them out.

(I'm working with ink in a sketchbook. Erasing isn't really much of an option once I'm past pencils.)

But, two of them are past concept sketch if not done yet.

This challenge has been great for doing small sketches that don't require a lot of setup.
