Fancy Rats Part 6
So close to the end!
Lethargic, Listless, Bored

Crappy, Crushed, Depressed

Disappointed, Envious, Pessimistic

Jealous, Lonely, Melancholy

Morose, Numb, Rejected

Cold, Dirty, Drunk

Commentary!
Well, Jealous is in conversation with Naughty, though making sure I could fit the idea into the space allotted took some wrangling.
Pessimistic is in conversation with Optimistic and Cynical; it's less sad if you imagine that the conversation goes Cynical to Pessimistic to Optimistic, with someone filling the glass with juice off-screen between the last two moods 😅
The idea with Envious is that the pigeon wants tiny hands and the rat wants wings; it makes me want to make a pigeon mood theme as a compliment to this one!
I originally sketched out Cold when my heater died in ...January? February? Very early in the year, during some ungodly cold snap.
Drunk, meanwhile, I originally drew for a fun Mardi Gras joke I made 😉 Same for at least one other rat, though I won't be officially "introducing" them until after Part 8
I think that's all my commentary for now, but if you want to know more about any of these rats, I'll be happy to keep going!

Have you heard of the rattober challenge?

! I have not! Please tell me more; I've missed drawing ratties!

It's an Inktober alternative hosted by thebeanbaguette on Instagram. It has 31 rat prompts. Googling rattober, rattober 2024, or beansrattober should get you the prompt list. Even though it's late in the month, it's something I thought you would have fun with.

Drunk in its little cocktail glass xD Putting the tail in cocktail!

Had to have Drunk eating the olive from (presumably) a martini. Had to. Already licked all the salt off the rim.

Unfortunately, for Life Reasons, I probably can't actually take on a mood theme right now. OTL

Aww ...

You should totally do a pigeon theme for next year's round! :D I love the little neck-rings. And there are SO MANY kinds of pigeons -- different shapes, colors, some of them do stunts, etc. You could use a Tumbling Pigeon for Excited, a Homing Pigeon for Homesick, a white one for Blank, etc.
Re: Aww ...
Urgh, I want to do a pigeon mood theme so much! They're so pretty and sweet and misunderstood! I just need to figure out where I can learn some more basic pigeon body language, so I can have a similar mix to the rat mood theme...
Re: Aww ...
I thought a rat sleeping on a wheel rather than running was hilarious.

(This is important because they not only have different colors and shapes, but also some breeds have very distinctive behaviors, many of which would be fun to draw and/or animate.)
